Between 15th and 19th May 2023, the 12th edition of the Erasmus Partnership Conference - EPIC took place. During the event representatives of several foreign universities visited the Opole University of Technology.
The aim of the conference was to exchange knowledge and experience in the field of changes that have taken place within the Erasmus+ program in recent years (digitalization of the program, the idea of "Green Erasmus", short-term mobilities) and the opportunities created by its individual projects. The event was also a great opportunity for integration, as well as initiating new and tightening existing cooperation.
Foreign guests had the opportunity to get to know the Opole University of Technology, meet with teaching and administrative staff of our unit, and conduct classes for students. They also learned the basics of the Polish language during classes organized by the Language Centre. As part of the discussion panel, ways of adapting universities to the needs of people with disabilities were discussed. In this topic, OUTech was represented by the staff of the Office for Support of Persons with Disabilities and Dr. Eng, PhD Michał Bohm from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, who discussed several projects implemented at our University to increase its access for people with disabilities. As part of the panel, staff of the International Relations Office talked about several initiatives under the "Green Erasmus" idea and about the experiences and difficulties encountered during the Erasmus digitization process.
There was also an oriental aspect of the event. The guests were invited to a Chinese tea ceremony and a calligraphy lesson conducted by representatives of the Confucius Institute.
As part of the conference, IRO organized also a trip to the Moszna Castle that was a great opportunity to present the culture and history of our region.
On the last day of their stay in Opole, representatives of foreign universities participated in the 6th International Scientific Conference on Crafts: Crafts - in the local, regional and international dimension "Crafts with respect for tradition and sustainable development" - CILRAID 2023 organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management in cooperation with the Guild of Crafts and Entrepreneurship and the Opole Center for Economic Development. During the conference, guests presented crafts and folk traditions of their regions and their impact on development and promotion on a micro and macro scale.
